All you need to know about HYROX

Are you on the Hyrox hype? The new fitness craze has seen phenomenal growth since its launch in 2017 and there’s no sign of it slowing down! Billing itself as a ‘Race for Every Body’, Hyrox races include a combination of endurance challenges and functional workouts making it a challenge that anyone can get involved in! Keep reading to find out the history of Hyrox, the finer details of what’s involved in the challenge and how you can get involved yourself.

What is Hyrox?

Now that you know a little bit about Hyrox, let’s get into the finer details. Hyrox originated in Hamburg and was founded by former Olympian Moritz Furste and one of the most established faces in race event organisation, Christian Toetzke. The main aim of Hyrox was to create a race for the masses that can be run at your own pace, with no qualification required. Another reason why Hyrox has had a recent surge in popularity is due to its structure of the race. Every Hyrox event has start waves of all ages and abilities, meaning that an athlete that finishes in 4 hours could finish at the same time as an athlete that finishes in 1 hour!

What’s involved in Hyrox?
